Central News in Bunbury has been named Western Australia's Retail Newsagent of the Year for the third year in a row.

Husband and wife team, Ian and Suzanne Cross, accepted the award at the WA Newsagent Industry Awards for Excellence 2015 on Saturday night in Perth.

Mr Cross said the competition this year was tough and they had not expected to win again.

"It's really great to get recognition for what we're doing," he said.

The couple have owned the Victoria Street business for about 12 years and put their success down to working with other newsagents.

Mrs Cross said the business also strived for community involvement.

"We're very proactive owners and we like to really put ourselves out there," she said.

Staff will celebrate the award with a free sausage sizzle.

"We did a sausage sizzle the first year and gave away 850 sausages," Mrs Cross said.

"It took us a year to recover but thought we better do it again this year to really thank everyone who has supported us."

Nextra Crosslands News won Lotterywest Lottery Retailer of the Year at the awards.
