Unlike the infamous relationship dramas in British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, vocalist Amanda Canzurlo aka Bloom’s favourite part of performing is being onstage alongside her bass player partner James Morley.

The couple, who competed together on The Voice Generations 2022, are currently doing just that in show Seventh Wonder Performs Fleetwood Mac, presenting the Grammy Award-winning Rumours album in its entirety, plus other Fleetwood Mac favourites.

Currently touring Australia, the show is endorsed by former Fleetwood Mac co-manager and Mick Fleetwood’s personal manager, Dennis Dunstan.

“We discussed the idea maybe four years ago, as a couple of our band members used to perform Mac in another show, and the rest of us grew up listening to them,” Canzurlo says, who was introduced to Fleetwood Mac’s harmonies and melodic song structures by her parents.

“It was a natural progression for us to navigate towards creating a show, as there is a space for people to see a theatre production of Fleetwood Mac, especially since the band has officially broken up.

“Rumours is quite the enigma. Its renowned for being created under such adverse personal situations, and in one way or another, people have related to some or all the songs, as well as the fact that they are so brilliantly written and produced, they transcend time.”

Canzurlo loves delving deep into the emotion of the lyrics, which she says can often make herself, and sometimes the audience, cry.

While the duo live out of a suitcase for most of the year, they try to locate that suitcase in Perth whenever they can, and will be heading to WA in March as Seventh Wonder Performs Fleetwood Mac stops at Astor Theatre Perth, Mandurah Performing Arts Centre and Albany Entertainment Centre.

These WA performances will be made even more special with an additional strings sections collaboration with Perth Symphony Orchestra for the Perth show, WA Pops Orchestra in Mandurah and Albany Chamber Orchestra in Albany.

“We have always believed that certain songs, from any artist, have the capacity to be elevated to another level, and especially with Fleetwood Mac, almost everything can be given another level of emotion with an orchestral feel,” Canzurlo explains.

“Having added the strings section, it’ll be really exciting to see the reaction of the audience as the songs take on a new life.”

Seventh Wonder Performs Fleetwood Mac is at Astor Theatre Perth on March 8, Mandurah Performing Arts Centre on March 14 and Albany Entertainment Centre’s Princess Royal Theatre on March 15. Tickets at seventhwonder.com.au.
