Presenting buyers with distinct, timeless designs to craft their forever home
With more than 120 years of high-quality building experience, Plunkett Homes knows what transforms a house into a home.
Over its lengthy history of operation in Western Australia, the building company has seen trends rise and fall, and has used this vantage point to craft timeless home designs.
Plunkett Homes’ four signature styles – Federation, Contemporary, Hamptons and Mid-Century – are showcased in its display homes, which offer buyers the chance to confidently select an abode they love to look at and be in.
“Each of these styles have features reflecting the style or era, and in most cases, they have a modern twist to suit today’s construction methods and materials,” Plunkett Homes Sales Manager Aaron Bennett said.
“The Contemporary style leans towards minimalism, with clean lines and simple, yet contrasting, colour palettes.
“It is on trend with its use of materials, shapes and colours but still offers a timeless appeal.
“Inspired by Long Island’s upscale beach houses, our Hamptons designs feature fresh colour palettes and ageless architectural elements for a relaxed, coastal aesthetic.
“Our Mid-Century designs are reminiscent of the Palm Springs homes of the 1950s, boasting bold colours and vast expanses of glass.”
The Atomic is a standout example of this latter style, emphasising clean lines and wide, open spaces.
Across Plunkett Homes’ range, there is one style Mr Bennett said was particularly special to the team.
“Federation homes hold a special place in our heart, as it is the style of the original Plunkett family home built in 1910, which still stands today in Highgate,” he said.
“Our Federation style captures the traditional federation look of yesteryear, harking back to the iconic turn-of-the-century homes seen in older suburbs.
“However, we’re also keen to stay on top of current trends, which is why we are continually updating designs and incorporating contemporary features which will stand the test of time – just as federation homes have.”
This glorious blend of old and new is epitomised by one of Plunkett Homes’ latest Federation display homes, the Kingstown.
A warm and welcoming dwelling, it paints a picture of the past without compromising on contemporary luxuries.
“The Kingstown effortlessly combines traditional federation style with a modern layout,” Mr Bennett said.
“The four-bedroom, two-bathroom home was influenced by the many residences built by Plunkett Homes over the last 120 years, particularly in locations such as Mount Lawley.
“Designed to embrace the outdoors and showcase a traditional theme, the Kingstown brings the federation style into the current year, incorporating elements such as colonial skirting, dado rails from Subiaco Restoration, Laminex Scallop feature lining in the living room, a scalloped white picket fence to the front yard, and brushed-brass fixtures and fittings.
“Then, of course, there’s the front elevation – the epitome of federation style – with its red feature brick and gables.”
For more than 120 years, Plunkett Homes has been providing Western Australians a place to call home, with a range of designs to suit every family’s lifestyle.
