The crucial contributions made to WA’s health industry were celebrated and acknowledged at the Rural Health Excellence Awards.
More than 260 health professionals gathered at the Pan Pacific Hotel for the event hosted by Rural Health West and WA Country Health Service
It shone a spotlight on more than 30 health professionals and teams, presenting 12 awards across various categories.
South West Aboriginal Medical Service chief executive officer Lesley Nelson took out top honours, recognised for her significant contribution to the health outcomes of Aboriginal people.
Winning the inaugural Aboriginal Health Professional of the Year and the Chairman’s Award Ms Nelson was recognised as a dynamic leader, mentor, and advocate for Aboriginal health.
The weekend also played host to the WA Rural GP Summit and the WA Rural Health Conference.
