Bornholm bushfire: Firefighters bring blaze that sparked alert warning west of Albany under control
Firefighters have brought a bushfire under control that forced an advice level warning in Bornholm, about 30km west of Albany, on Tuesday.
Aerial support was initially sent to the blaze to assist ground crews but has since been stood down.
The fire was reported at 9.22am on December 17.
A bushfire advice was issued at 10.17am for people in the area bounded by Tennessee North, Rosedale and Mountain roads, and Bornholm Beach Access Point in Bornholm.
Department of Fire and Emergency Services issued an update at 3.07pm saying the fire threat is now reduced.
There remains a lot of smoke in the area and crews continue to work in the area, patrolling and mopping up.
Earlier in the day firefighters had strengthened containment lines and an early assessment said the approximate size of the fire is 2.5ha according to DFES.
The City of Albany is managing the fire.
