A young Australian woman has died on a Qantas flight just hours before she was due to reunite with her family for the first time in four years.

Manpreet Kaur suffered a medical episode minutes before her plane to Dehli was due to take off on June 20.

Emergency crews and cabin crew rushed to help the 24-year-old but she could not be saved.

Ms Kaur’s friend Gurdip Grewal revealed that she was feeling unwell before she boarded the plane.

“When she got on the plane, she was struggling to put her seatbelt on,” Mr Grewal told the Herald Sun.

The young Melbourne student, who aspired to be a chef, is being remembered as a kind and honest person who loved to travel with friends.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money for Ms Kaur’s family.

“Our dear friend Manpreet left us too soon, leaving a void in our lives that can never be filled,” Mr Grewal wrote on the GoFundMe.

“As we grieve her passing, we want to come together to honour her memory and support her family in their time of need.

“As we say our final goodbyes, every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to our goal. Your support means the world to us and Manpreet’s family.”
