Donnybrook have returned from a mid-season break meaning business after dominating Leschenault to continue their undefeated streak.

The Bunbury & Districts Cricket Association’s women’s competition returned from the Christmas and new year break on Sunday with teams split into two grades for the remainder of the season.

Donnybrook, Leschenault, Colts and Marist made up the women’s A-grade competition, while the B-grade competition comprised Dalyellup, Burekup, Hay Park, Eaton and a second team from Leschenault.

The Dons and Leschenault went head-to-head at Egan Park, where Leschenault’s bowlers were quick to put the pressure on the Dons’ batters.

Although Lisa Smith was bowled out by Chloe Papas for just two runs during the third over, Donnybrook remained composed as Ashleigh Towers and Summer Towers worked together to build a lead.

Despite Summer Towers being bowled out for 10 by Marie Todesco, Ashleigh Towers and Stephanie Jolly combined to rack up more runs before they each retired not out on 51 and 52 respectively.

Meanwhile in B-grade, Dalyellup defeated Burekup 3-125 to all out for 61 in a dominant effort, while Hay Park beat Eaton 2-77 to all out for 73.
