Bunbury and Districts Cricket Association representative side beat Australian Cricket Association Masters

A Bunbury and Districts Cricket Association representative side secured bragging rights over their Australian Cricket Association Masters opponents in an exhibition game at Hay Park on Sunday, winning by seven wickets. A healthy crowd turned out to see a number of former international and State cricketers come up against a BDCA outfit featuring a blend of experience and youth in a match which was competitive but played in great spirit. Batting first, the ACA Masters put a score of 7-132 on the board from their 20 overs, with Julianne Langley (30) top-scoring. Young spinner Molly Lincoln was the best of the BDCA’s bowlers, finishing with figures of 3-27 from four overs. Contributions from Matt Fink (28 not out) and Michael Tassone (27) helped the hosts track down their target in the 18th over, despite Chloe Rafferty (2-21 from three overs) claiming a pair of victims for the visitors. After the game, ACA Masters representatives Alex Ross, Craig Simmons and Nicky Shaw participated in a panel show hosted by SEN’s Alan Crane. Ross announced Lincoln as the recipient of a $1000 bursary to continue her cricketing journey and gifted BDCA president Daron Stenhouse with a signed bat at the conclusion of the day.
