As Christmas lights beginning to twinkle far and wide throughout the South West, Synergy is calling for the best houses to help raise money for Lifeline WA.

The Synergy Xmas Lights Trail returns again this festive period, including eight of the best homes throughout the South West region that will be included as part of the campaign.

The trail hopes to bring the joy of Christmas to children and adults while raising money for Lifeline WA’s initiative Lights for Lifeline.

Homes around WA, no matter how big or small their display is, are invited to register to be part of the trail and welcome visitors to their lights display.

Residents are also invited to vote for their favourite lights on the trial before the closing date on midnight December 12.

Synergy’s marketing manager Kelley Yeats said the organisation was delighted to be able to create an experience that connects individuals and the community to the joy of the festive season, while supporting Lights for Lifeline.

“Synergy continues its support of Lifeline WA though the Xmas Lights Trail because we recognise how important this cause is at this time of year festive season, particularly in these challenging times where many families cannot be together,” she said.

“We know that for Lifeline WA this is the busiest time of year and that much-needed funds are essential in training more crisis support volunteers to help those most vulnerable in our communities.”

Here is the list of some of the best lights in Bunbury taking part in Synergy’s Xmas Lights Trail to raise money for Lifeline WA.

5 Macauley Street, South Bunbury

This family’s lights started with a single string of lights 20 years ago and it has grown and grown over the years to a display that includes a homemade, life-sized gingerbread house, lots of Santa inflatables, many lit-up Christmas trees and lights: lots and lots of lights! Their lights are on from 6-11pm every night.

Marie Vranjies is a self-confessed light addict and for 22 years now she’s been decorating her home, and each year her display gets bigger and bigger, which is probably the reason why she won the Best Regional Lights Display for the Synergy Xmas Lights Trail in 2020. Marie is famous for lighting up every roof tile and every brick on her house with lights and this in turn lights up the faces of every person that comes to see her display. This year, Marie is raising funds for Perth Children’s Hospital and her lights are on from 7.30-10.30pm every night.

20 Graphite Turn, Dalyellup

If you’re looking to get the perfect Christmas photo of your family this year, then this display will create the perfect backdrop with Santa’s sleigh and 2m tall reindeers and hundreds of twinkling lights in the background; it’s sure to be a photo to frame. This beautiful family has created this display because they love the joy it brings to all the families who come to see it and because they are also raising funds for Cancer Council WA.

122 Hornibrook Road, Dalyellup

This fantastical display of giant inflatables and hundreds of lights has been created and dedicated to the baby boy that this family lost when he was just five days old from major heart problems and they are also raising funds for the charity, Heartkids WA. The kids will love this display and they may even spot Santa going down the chimney.
