A goal-kicking masterclass from the likes of Caitlin Shales, Megan Minton and Emma Faulkner has helped the Harvey Bulls continue charging through the competition by keeping the Collie Eagles scoreless.

The Bulls hosted the Eagles during the second round of the 2023 South West Football League season at Harvey Oval on Sunday, where it did not take long for the Bulls to establish dominance.

Both sides scrambled for the ball from the outset but the Bulls hit the scoreboard first, with Minton soccering the ball through under pressure from Jayeisha Ford.

The Bulls then quickly took control of the match, with unanswered goals from the likes of Minton, Shales and Faulkner.

The Eagles tried giving themselves a fighting chance by driving the ball forward but were blocked at every turn as the Bulls laid strong tackles and made plenty of interceptions to lead 4.3 (27) to 0.0 (0) at the first change.

The second quarter saw a similar pattern, with Harvey making a fast start towards goal.

However, Collie made attempts to fight back, amping up the defensive pressure, but Harvey continued dominating on the scoreboard, booting three goals to extend their lead out to 45 points by halftime.

As the match became more physical, Collie’s Skye Washer became a casualty after being knocked down and taken off the field out of precaution.

The second half saw Collie take a more aggressive approach in defence, but the Bulls remained composed and quickly drove the ball forward to extend their lead even further.

Shales and Faulkner continued adding goals to their respective tallies, along with Fleur Parker, to blow the margin out to 79 points at the final change.

Collie continued fighting hard to drive the ball forward but their efforts proved futile as Harvey continued running circles around the Eagles to come away with the win 15.10 (100) to 0.0 (0).

Shales kicked a game-high five goals, followed closely by Minton (four) and Faulkner (four).

Ford, Natasha Bower, Morgan Becker and Chante Kickett were named among the best for the Eagles.
