A dominant performance by reigning premiers Western Roar has overwhelmed the Souwest Jets in a 62-30 loss after a tough contest at the Gold Netball Centre on Friday.

From the outset, the Roar were firing out the gate quickly driving the ball down the court, leaving the Jets in their dust.

In the midst of the Jets being kept to scoring single digits, the pressure was on the Jets defenders to stop Roar shooters Georgie Cleaver and Emma Putt.

By quarter-time, the Roar led 18-6.

The second quarter saw a similar pattern with the Jets limited to scoring in the single digits once again as the Roar continued to dominate the court, leading 31-13 at half-time.

While the Jets managed to find a way to fight back during the third quarter and score 11-14, it was not enough to stop the Roar from running away with the contest.

Kate Kimberley has continued to come into her own as Jets’ shooter, racking up 16 goals to be her side’s highest scorer of the night.

The Jets will be looking to bounce back quickly when they return to the court on Tuesday to take on the Curtin Hamersley Comets, who also remain undefeated after beating the West Coast Warriors 69-40 on Friday night.

The last time the Jets and the Comets met was in round nine of the 2022 season, when the Comets defeated the Jets 57-37.
