Cottesloe Beach closed after Rescue Helicopter spots 5m great white shark just 100m offshore

Cottesloe Beach has been closed after a 5m great white shark was sighted just 100m offshore.

The monster shark was spotted by the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter off Peters Pool, North Cottesloe, about 4.05pm on Thursday.

Surf Life Saving WA said the shark was tracking in a southerly direction.
