WA Country was unable to bring home the win with the side going down against SA Country 13.16 (94) to 7.9 (51) in the annual clash.

Three of the Great Northern Football League’s finest lined up for WA in Harry Taylor (Northampton), Jayden Schofield (Chapman Valley) and Kim Schofield (Chapman Valley).

Despite the star power for the WA squad, they couldn’t bring home the win over at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.

WA came out fast, taking a 2.3 (15) to 1.4 (10) lead at the first break, but the home side shifted momentum in their favour in the second quarter to take the advantage.

Taylor put his best foot forward, booting two goals in the fourth quarter as WA tried to mount a comeback but they were not good enough against SA.

The win goes back to South Australia now, after WA claimed glory last year when they hosted the clash at Optus Stadium. The overall record between the sides sits at 8-3 in SA’s favour since 2011.

The selection for the trio comes off the back of their performances at country week, where Great Northern took out the division two title over Central Midlands Coastal.
