Condolence lounge at crematorium

Bunbury Herald

The Bunbury Crematorium officially opened a new extension last week.

Known as the condolence lounge, the new structure is built around the old courtyard which itself was added to over the years.

The not-for-profit Bunbury Cemetery Board has worked for more than nine years to bring the project to fruition.

The large airy structure, which opens onto neatly kept gardens, allows people to socialise in a peaceful and tastefully decorated area.

Mourners and friends will now have an all-weather covered lounge equipped with air-conditioning, state-of-the-art screens and surround sound that can also be used as a overflow area from the chapel for big funeral services.

The condolence lounge is expected to benefit the South West as a burgeoning population makes more use of the services at the Bunbury Crematorium in coming years.
