Market day supports Bunbury bushfire brigade

Bunbury Herald

Volunteer firefighters have called on the Bunbury community to support them at this weekend’s markets.

A few times each year the City of Bunbury Volunteer Bushfire Brigade host markets to help raise funds to pay for equipment, training and uniforms.

The markets have been running for about 10 years.

Brigade captain Terri Kowal said there would be plenty for the community to enjoy.

‘‘There will be a whole lot of crafts and things for people to buy,’’ she said.

‘‘It’s all locally made and there will be plenty for people of all ages.’’

There will be craft and scrapbooking stalls, fresh fruit and vegetables and a sausage sizzle.

Mrs Kowal said the volunteers would once again cook their famous bacon and egg burgers.

‘‘We want to get as many people as possible down there,’’ she said.

‘‘It’s not just about raising funds for volunteers but also supporting local people who sell their items.’’

The markets will be held this Sunday in the Bunbury Centrepoint undercover car park from 6am to noon.

To be a part of the markets, call Mrs Kowal on 0419 914 751.
