Mrs Harrison-Ward said the State’s SES volunteers responded to more than 680 incidents in the past 12 months and there were two simple ways people could show their appreciation for a remarkable group of people.

"You can show your support for SES volunteers on WOW Day by wearing an item of orange clothing or accessory such as a ribbon, tie or scarf," she said.

"You can also send a personal message of support to SES volunteers by emailing thankyouses@fesa.wa.gov.au."
