Thommo’s project lives

Bunbury Herald

The memory of Colin Raymond Thomson will live on in Thommo’s Memorial Community Garden, with the City of Bunbury donating a tribute sign in remembrance of the long-serving City of Bunbury employee.

Mr Thomson began the project in late 2008 before his death in February 2009, but with the support of his workmates and brother John Thomson the garden is continuing to flourish.

The garden now has around 80 members and has become a space for seniors tohone their gardening skills as well as enjoying some exercise.

Mayor David Smith was there as the sign was erected near the gardens.

The garden also received $40,000 in funding from Lotterywest earlier this year to buy a tractor and other gardening equipment.

Anyone over 55 interested in joining the garden is asked to call John Thomson on 0428 162 748.
