Bennell claims fifth Jerrard Medal as Great Boulder’s best A-grade player in 2024-25 season

Batting maestro Bevan Bennell has added to his 2024-25 mantle as the Eastern Goldfields Cricket Association’s leading player with a fifth Jerrard Medal as Great Boulder’s top performer.
Bennell led the way with 16 votes — one clear of Josh Rushmore — after compiling 500 runs at 71.43.
It included a hard-hitting 102 not out against North Kalgoorlie in round four, and he followed-up with an unbeaten 101 against the same opponents in round eight.
The right-hander’s punishment on Norths’ attack continued in round 11, when he blasted 99 off 80 deliveries.
It was another standout season for Bennell, who last month claimed a third O’Shaughnessy Medal in five seasons and captained the side to a decisive grand final victory against Hannans when Rushmore’s dynamic opening spell yielded 3-23 and earned him the Cranston Medal as best afield.
Among Great Boulder’s other awards, Nathan Lovell and Jake Prunster tied on 10 votes for the Emerson Medal, presented to the club’s B-grade player of the year.
