A man in his 40s has suffered serious injuries in a skydiving accident.

The incident happened on Thursday morning near Jurien Bay in WA, about 220km north of Perth

The skydiver was taken to Jurien Bay Health Centre and then flown to Royal Perth Hospital.

A St John WA spokeswoman told NewsWire the RAC rescue helicopter touched down in Perth about 2pm.

“His injuries were believed to be serious but not life threatening,” she said.

St John WA received the distress call about 10.30am, she added.

A worker at the skydive operator, Skydive Jurien Bay, told The West Australian newspaper the man was in “high spirits” following the accident.
