The sun was shining and crowds were healthy at the weekend’s Aqua Spectacular.

Events drew in big numbers of people with visitors and locals making the most of the fine weather to experience all that Bunbury has to offer.

Bunbury Leschenault Rotarian David Kerr said key events such as the Multicultural Night Under the Stars, Krikke Boys Shootout and AHA Cup Day were the key crowd pleasers.

“At most venues crowds seemed to be up 10-15 per cent, ” he said.

“There were people all over the place. More than 1000 people came through the Dolphin Discovery Centre on Saturday.”

“There were a lot of visitors. I heard quite a few American accents over the weekend and I was talking to a group of guys who were down from Perth.

“There were also people from the eastern States over for the Shootout.”

He said the weekend of events gave people an idea of what is always operating out of Bunbury.

“That’s the idea about it, identify that there are all these clubs and trying to draw the attention of the public to them.”

Mr Kerr manned the barbecue at yesterday’s recovery breakfast and said there were big numbers of people at the beach.

“There were yachts out on the water and people enjoying the beach, ” he said.
