The first blocks in a new Australind subdivision will be released next week.

The blocks are part of Treendale Riverside’s first stage, which will ultimately open up more than 530 family lots and several bigger lots for village-style living.

Sixteen of the initial 40 blocks have been pre-sold.

Situated next to the existing Treendale site, the new development is owned by a major Perth-based developer and has no connection to Treendale.

The Bunbury Herald can reveal plans for the subdivision include a restaurant complex, a dedicated food hall and about 10ha of public open space.

It will also link to the new bridge connecting Treendale and Millbridge, cutting down travel time to Bunbury for residents.

Barr and Standley are exclusive selling agents for the blocks and the agency’s Wayne Spells said while the subdivision was independent of Treendale, he aimed for them to connect seamlessly through the main street, The Boulevard.

“We want it to meld in and the last thing I want is for people to come down The Boulevard and see a noticeable difference between the two estates, ” he said.

Next week’s release is part of the 100-lot first stage, which will connect to the existing sewerage.

A $2.9 million pump station has been built to connect the remainder of Treendale Riverside, which Mr Spells predicted would be sold out within three to four years.

Mr Spells said the land was sold seven years ago and had been kept idle since then, while processes such as budgets and sewerage were organised.
