Organised by the Department of Transport, Cycle Instead Bikeweek has been around for 30 years.
Bikeweek started on March 17 and finishes on Sunday, with South West events on this weekend to keep cycling in people’s minds.

``In regards to health, cycling is good for the cardiovascular system, improves lung capacity for people with asthma and good the bones of older people,’’ he said.
The Rusty Riders workshop being held by the Bunbury Bicycle Users Group on Sunday will begin with an 8am ride from the Bunbury Rowing Club.

The Collie Bike Festival will be held on Saturday at Soldiers Park, with a day of cycling activities.
There is still also time to get involved with the Bikeweek photography competition, where people are encouraged to take a photo that represents an aspect of cycling.
The five categories are family cycling, commuter, ride in style/glamour push, road rider and off roader.
Entries can be dropped off by Sunday at the Cancer Council WA’s Dot’s Place at 62 Forrest Avenue in Bunbury.
All participants in Bikeweek activities go in the running to win a bicycle prize pack valued at $1000.
