Boyanup make hockey history

Boyanup stamped its mark in the history books at the weekend after defeating Marist 4-3 in the grand final to claim an unprecedented fifth consecutive South West Hockey League men’s title.

The All Blacks’ women were also victorious in their decider, edging out Associates on penalty strokes withRobyn Jilley best on ground.

In the men’s final Elliot Barton gained some consolation for the Blues with a best-on-ground performance.

The Bunbury and Districts Hockey Association A2 Grade men’s title went toMarist who gained revenge for their SWHL team’s defeat by Boyanup with a 1-0 win over the All Blacks with Joe Cosenza of Marist best on ground.

In the women’s A2 Grade Associates defeated Eaton Eagles on penalty strokes with Soaks Morgan Gould best on ground.
