The students at Bunbury Senior High School got to put some tough questions to the city’s top civic representative last week.

Bunbury Mayor Jaysen Miguel visited a group of students from the school’s Year 7 Humanities and Social Sciences class, who got to have a question-and-answer session with him.

Before the visit, the class had prepared a list of questions to ask the mayor.

Student Leo Peters was chosen by the class to read out the questions, with topics ranging from sports and TV shows to local, national and international issues affecting them.

They also asked about the mayor’s plans for the future of Bunbury.

“It was a great opportunity in gaining a better understanding of how politics works and requirements of becoming a politician,” Leo said.

“All students thoroughly enjoyed the visit.”
