Chefs' lunch projects unveiled

EMILY BAKERBunbury Herald

The beneficiaries of the 2014 Chefs Long Table Lunch were officially announced at a civic reception hosted by Bunbury Mayor David Smith on Thursday night.

Bunbury Meals on Wheels and Senior Citizens Association, Heal for Life Foundation and Nurture Works BUZ have been chosen to share in money raised at the popular annual event.

After an extensive review process, the committee chose seven South West charities and not-forprofit organisations to share $108,000.

Media and sponsorship coordinator Genine Unsworth said the event’s committee was grateful for the continued support from the Bunbury City Council.

“Projects funded by the lunch undergo a vigorous selection process and must meet strict criteria, including an organisation’s ability to make a valuable contribution to the lives of people living in the South West and to encourage strong communities and families,” she said.

After the 2014 event, money will also be distributed to the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre, Bunbury Sea Rescue, City of Bunbury Surf Life Saving Club and Milligan Community Learning and Resource Centre for the Street Soccer program.

Tickets for the 2014 event, to be held on February 23, are available at www.chefslongtable.com.au.
