Club's ride spreads Christmas joy
Last month the Salvation Army in Bunbury ran out of food and was struggling to find enough for Christmas.
But after generous donations from about 320 South West motorcyclists, the Salvation Army has been given a big boost to help those in need this holiday period.
The donations were made at the end of the annual charity bike ride organised by the Indian Harley Club Bunbury.
The riders, which included motorcycling enthusiasts, rode from Capel to Dalyellup and then to Bunbury on Saturday to donate food and toys.
In total, $3270 was raised from the sale of commemorative badges and money donated by the riders.
Bunbury Salvation Army Major Trevor Wilson said the demand for its services increased every year.
“The donations go a huge way to helping out and to supply the needs of the community,” he said.
Indian Harley Club Bunbury president Eric Lawrence said the event had been held by the club for at least the past 21 years.
Mr Lawrence said the charity ride was a chance to help the less fortunate in the community.
