Councils work out priorities

A regional pound, redeveloping the Stirling Street Arts Centre and regional bike plan are set to be the top priorities for the Bunbury City Council to complete with neighbouring councils.

The councils of Bunbury, Capel, Collie, Donnybrook, Dardanup and Harvey, which make up the Bunbury-Wellington Group, have been asked to submit their list of top priorities for the next five years.

The collaborative list of priorities will be used to lobby for funding available and will reduce the councils’ competition over funds.

The proposed “regional animal care facility” would take in cats, dogs, native animals and livestock and the task of managing the facility would be shared by the councils.
