The City of Bunbury Eisteddfod reached its half way point at the weekend after a spectacular array of performances by dance troupes, choirs, brass and jazz bands and even local duos during the past two weeks.

Eisteddfod president Myra Easton said she had been delighted by the talent in this year’s competition.

“It has just been going so well and every year it just gets better, ” she said.

“There were two lads in particular in the guitar section who performed their own composition, and they just took it all in their stride because we had a few technical issues – for their age they were extremely professional.”

Ms Easton said participants had been lucky to perform in the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre’s new Cube Theatre.

“We love the new theatre and if we get enough funding next year we will try to juggle things and utilise it a bit more – it is so intimate and lovely, ” she said.

Internationally renowned dance adjudicator Marilyn Morrison made the trip to WA especially for the City of Bunbury Eisteddfod.

“It gives participants the chance to see how they are going opposed to the rest of the states — we’re quite isolated here in WA.”
