Driver charged over fatalities faces May trial

A trial date has been set for an 85-year-old Perth man who pleaded not guilty to dangerous driving causing the death of two teenage girls in May last year.

Kenneth James Knox will face trial in the Bunbury Magistrates Court on May 17 and 18 over the deaths of Rebekah Williams, 17, and Rebecca Favero, 16.

MrKnoxwas charged after his Subaru Forrester collided head-on with a Ford Laser near Boyanup in May last year.

Three friends in the car were also injured.

Mr Knox was charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death and three counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

At the last appearance of this matter at court, Rebecca Favero’s uncle, Carl Beck, said both families were devastated the matter would be going to trial.
