A man is recovering in hospital and police are looking for another man after a road rage incident near Capel on Saturday night.

South West traffic police acting officer-in-charge Sgt Allan Glover said the 61-year-old man pulled into a truck bay about 7.30pm, north of Capel on Bussell Highway, after being irritated by another driver.

"He pulled over to let the other guy pass and go about his business," Sgt Glover said.

He said the other driver followed and when he got out of his car ran him down.

Police believe the man was driving a light coloured station wagon and are asking for anyone with information to contact them.
