Dynamic Duo continue the fight
Fighting breast cancer at a young age led two survivors to join forces to make the battle easier for other women with cancer.
Nat Olsen and Kristy Standring are the Dynamic Duo and hope to raise $10,000 for the support groups that helped them.
Both women said they were unaware of the range of services available when they were diagnosed last year.
“I went searching for support and found Solariscare South West, Breast Cancer Network Australia, McGrath Foundation and Cancer Council,” Ms Standring said.
Ms Olsen, 36, and Ms Standring, 32, were rooms apart when they had their first surgeries.
“We’re trying to promote it because we didn’t think it would happen to us,” Ms Standring said.
“We want it out there that it can happen to young women – so many women have been misdiagnosed.”
The Dynamic Duo will hold a fund raiser at Australind Community Hall on Saturday from 5pm. More information can be found on the Dynamic Duo Breast Cancer Facebook page.
