BUNBURY HERALDBunbury Herald

An elderly Carey Park couple has been left shaken but not scared by a graffiti attack on Wednesday night.

Colin and Rita Baxter, aged in their 80s, believe the offender - who used white paint to write derogatory comments on their house and car - damaged the wrong home.Mr Baxter told the Bunbury Herald the couple, married for more than 60 years, was shocked and surprised by the attack.

The couple live in State Government housing and have never had an incident since moving in three years ago.

"What was written on the windows is ridiculous and stupid," Mr Baxter said.

"They have got the wrong place."

Mrs Baxter said she wanted to move to another home but was told it would take at least 12 months for their application to be considered.

"I think my family is more worried about us (than we are)," she said.

The Baxters' granddaughter, Vanessa, said she was shocked by the attack, which was clearly "meant for somebody else".

"It is something you don't see every day and certainly something you don't want to see happen at your grandparents' house," she said.
