Students from eight schools competed against each other in the Tuart Division Sports Carnival at Hay Park on Friday.

Held at the Bunbury Athletics Arena, Adam Road, Amaroo, Bunbury Primary, Dalyellup, Kingston, Parkfield, Glen Huon Primary and Donnybrook District High School competed for the Tuart and the Handicap shields.

The students competed in a number of events including the 400m track, leaderball, 100m track, passball, 200m track and 4 x 100m relay.

The Tuart Shield was won by Dalyellup Primary while the Handicap Shield was won by Kingston Primary School.

Glen Huon principal and event organiser Carolyn Nankervis said it was a sensational day.

“We have never seen such good behaviour from the children,” she said.

“They showed outstanding respect and sportsmanship towards the other students.

“There’s a lot of competition and enthusiasm — it’s a great day to get out and compete.”
