Fans crowd-fund Hailmary's tour to showcase latest EP

Perth hard-rockers Hailmary are continuing to ride a wave of popularity and support from their loyal fan base as they tour the country with their latest EP release Navigate the Sunrise.

The band asked their fans to crowd-fund the national tour through a “Pozible” campaign, allowing them to reach as many venues as possible.

“The Pozible campaign was something we thought about when we finished the recording to help fund the tour, ” singer-songwriter Kevin Curran said.

“A couple of bands who we have played with who we respect have also done it so we thought we would give it a go.”

The four-piece band has picked up West Australian Music Industry Awards for their previous two singles.

The independent band have a reputation for being one of the hardest working rock bands on the live circuit, but their number one venue in which to perform is the Prince of Wales Hotel.

“It is probably our favourite place to play — I love the vibe there and the sound guy working down there at the moment is the best guy to work with.

“He makes us sound like a million bucks.”

Curran said Navigate the Sunrise was the most original-sounding release Hailmary had produced so far.

“I think we were under no illusion that we were truly unique — you’re always going to get compared to someone else, ” he said.

“But we did a lot of pre-production and had looser approach and a bit more fun I think.

“This EP sounds a bit more like Hailmary’s sound and I’m proud of it.”
