Football: Round 4 Wrap Up - continued

Bunbury Herald

Busselton came from behind to snatch a draw against Bunbury in a pulsating game at Payne Park on Sunday.

The Magpies trailed by 17 points at the last change and fell behind further when Jordan Adamson-Holmes kicked the first goal of the fourth term for Bunbury.

But the visitors stormed back into the contest with Aiden Fraser booting the final two goals of the game to tie things up. Both teams finished on 10.11 (71).

Adding to the confusion was the fact the scoreboard had Bunbury ahead by a point until late in the final term when it was corrected.

Adamson-Holmes, Cody Hay and Liam McGuire all kicked two goals for Bunbury while Shaun Trombetta booted four majors for the Magpies.

At Kelly Park, the Eaton Boomers moved to outright top spot on the ladder after a comfortable 19.11 (125) to 8.11 (59) victory over Carey Park.

After slotting 11 majors in his last outing, Eaton’s Leigh Kelly was held goalless by Panther Damien Stevens.

But Jacob Ferrier stepped up to boot seven majors for the visitors.

The Boomers started well with a five-goals-to-one first term and extended their advantage at every change.

South Bunbury moved inside the top three after a 25-point victory over Donnybrook at VC Mitchell Park.

The Tigers piled on eight unanswered goals either side of the three-quarter time break to set up the 14.11 (95) to 10.10 (70) win.

In just his second league game, South Bunbury’s Pat Ryan was a standout while Dylan Harper and Fraser Miller also shone. Jarrad Guglielmana was Donnybrook’s best.

Sunday’s three games finished the split round four, with Collie Eagles and Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault both notching victories last weekend.
