Force safe in Premier League

Despite a 4-0 flogging at the hands of Floreat Athena on Saturday it was not all bad news for the Bunbury Forum Force, who had their State Premier League safety confirmed.

With one match remaining in the home-and-away season the Force are eighth — four points clear of bottom placed Western Knights — and can’t slide beyond ninth on theladder.

Former Force player Jon Brooks scored against his old team at Litis Stadium as Bunbury was outclassed by an Athena line-up keen to keep its flickering title hopes alive.

Floreat took the lead early when BobbyWilson headed home from a corner in the 13th minute before Sandi Loncar, Benny Kovaoio and Brooks all found the back of the net in the second half.
