Glory coaches visit SW school
Perth Glory coaches passed on their expertise to Bunbury Primary School students on Friday.
The club's community development coaches ran hour-long sessions for the school's Year 3 to 7 students on the final day before school holidays.
"I just thought it would fit in well with the last day of term," Bunbury Primary physical education teacher Astin Cole Piper said.
"It's so important to get kids out and being active these days as well as trying different things.
"The kids enjoyed having the pros come down and teach them some new skills."
Students were able to show their skills by splitting into smaller groups for matches.
Perth Glory community and development manager Callum Salmon said they had a strong regional focus.
"We’re the only professional club in WA and it's important that we treat it as WA and not just Perth," he said.
"It's not too far down to Bunbury and we enjoy coming down."
The club will also hold school holiday Soccer Schools in Bunbury between 9am-3pm October 9 and 10.
These will be held at the Soccerdrome, home ground of Bunbury United, the junior club of current Glory defender Josh Risdon.
