Hospital site still vandals' target

Bunbury Herald

Three juveniles were seen entering the former St John of God Hospital site near the library on Friday carrying a backpack and spray paint in hand.

The state of the vacant building has worsened over the years with vandals destroying rooms, vandalising walls with graffiti tags, smashing windows and dumping rubbish.

The Bunbury Herald witnessed two teenage boys and a young girl briefly enter the dilapidated building about 2.20pm, with one juvenile carrying a can of spray paint and wearing a backpack.

Oblivious to the Herald’s presence near the library carpark, the trio walked into the building shaking the can, only to emerge a few minutes later smiling and making their way up the road.

Bunbury City Council is waiting for the owners of the building to make a submission regarding what their plans are for the site.
