House falls off back of truck
Traffic along Spencer Street was disrupted for hours on Sunday after a demountable house fell off the back of a truck as it was being transported.
The incident happened on the corner of Spencer and Clarke streets, near Hands Oval when the south-bound truck lost its big load.
Surrounding residents say they heard a loud bang at about 9am and discovered the house had slid off the truck and landed in the garden outside the oval.
The house was being moved from a block on Spencer Street to Collie.
It is believed equipment used to secure the load failed, causing the house to slide.
It took crews until 5.30pm to clear the area and allow traffic to return to normal.
No one was injured in the incident.
