Last chance at Christmas Shop
The opportunity to admire and buy an artwork from the highly regarded Christmas Shop exhibition will soon end.
The exhibition was launched in 2006 and showcases the contribution of artists, craft workers and designers to visual arts in the South West.
Almost 30 artists present a variety of media including ceramics, jewellery, painting, photography and works on paper.
Unlike most exhibitions, all of the works exhibited are available for immediate sale.
Galleries assistant Donna Fortescue said artworks had gone out the door in a flurry in the lead up to Christmas but there was still time to buy an artwork before the exhibition closed on January 23.
‘‘It’s your last chance to come in nd get a special gift,’’ she said.
All the jewellery has been sold but there are some amazing photos on exhibition which demand admiration, according to Mrs Fortescue.
‘‘We are fortunate that even though a lot of beautiful pieces from the exhibition have already sold, there is still awhole gallery of works to choose from and with the variety presented there is something to appeal to every taste,’’ audience development officer Kelly Jennings said.
‘‘It is a shame to see the Christmas Shop close as it is such a colourful and varied exhibition.
‘‘It will however make room for the South Western Times Survey which is always really popular as well.’’
The Bunbury Regional Art Galleries, on Wittenoom Street, is open daily between 10am to 4pm.
