Leadlight illuminates Enable

Leadlighting artwork by Jonathan Flower has helped to illuminate Enable Southwest’s newly renovated Bunbury premises.

Picture by Jon Gellweiler: Art Partners mentor Sherryl Wilson has helped Jonathan Flower to create a leadlighting display at the new Enable Southwest premises.

Mr Flower was a participant in the Art Partners mentorship program andwas guided by Sherryl Wilson who has been leadlighting for 10 years.

Enable Southwest, one of Bunbury’s key disability support agencies, has just completed a substantial renovation of itsnew premises on Beach Road.

The agency commissioned Mr Flower to create the original artwork.

Mr Flower worked closely with Nigel Snelling, the leadlighting tutor at the Stirling Street Arts Centre, to co-design thepiece.

Enable operations manager Rhea Tansell said the design incorporated a number of words which represent the values of Enable, anda selection of lovely colours from the corporate brand.

Art Partners matches people who wish to enrol in a class at the Stirling Street Arts Centre or the Bunbury RegionalArt Gallerieswith mentors.

Project officer Wanda Ariano said she was delighted with Mr Flower’s participation in the project and the commonalitie she shared with his mentor.

The leadlighting piece will be unveiled in late March when the Enable office is officially opened.

The public is welcometo visit Enable Southwest at 104 Beach Road to see the artwork.
