Libs pledge more fuel for pensioners

WA Liberal Party candidate for Collie-Preston Jaimee Motion says the electorate will benefit if Royalties for Regions is continued under a Liberal-led State Government.

The Liberals this month released its priorities for Royalties for Regions if re-elected at the March State Election, with more specific details to be released next year.

The Liberals’ key aims are improving regional health services and roads, investing in long-term economic infrastructure and supporting families and non-mining industries.

The Liberals also promised more support for seniors including an increase to the Country Aged Pension Fuel Card.

Collie-Preston MLA Mick Murray said the Liberal priorities were nothing new.

“All of the things the Liberals say they will do are things they should be doing anyway,” he said.

Mr Murray said Labor, if elected in March, would make the South West a priority.

“Labor supports a Royalties for Region scheme but one which is more transparent,” he said.

Ms Motion said she was determined to work hard to ensure Collie-Preston benefitted from the success of the State.

“I think the best way to do that is be part of the Liberal team for Regional WA,” she said.

“As I travel around the electorate meeting people in the shires of Capel, Collie and Dardanup, I look forward to discussing with them their priorities for their towns and the region.

“I am happy to assure people that Royalties for Regions is here to stay and, with the support of people across the regions, the Liberals will make it an even better program.”
