Local golfer takes out win for Kristoffersson Cup golf tournament on weekend

Manjimup golfer Michael Ramsey and Esperance’s Tina Potts were named the men’s and women’s winners of the annual Kristoffersson Cup golf tournament at the Manjimup Country Club on the weekend.
The three-day competition was attended by players from across the State, starting with a 4BBB stableford competition on Friday.
The duo of Denice Nock and Linda Fullam had the best score with 50 points, while Jason and Wayne Edwards were second with 49 points.
“Hippy” Giblett and Roger Chamberlain took out third place on 48 points, while Gary Wenn and Gary Cooper were fourth with 47 points.
The gross winners were Colin and Lachlan Muir.
The main stableford took place on Saturday and Sunday, with Potts recording the best score in the women’s stableford with 78 points. Runner-up on 69 points was Bridgetown’s Leonie Pitassi on 69 points.
Christine Simmonds from Manjimup was third with 69 points, while Christine Randall, from Demark, was fourth with 67 points.
The gross winner was Lisa Morey from Denmark.
Ramsey was named the men’s winner with 79 points ahead of runner-up Steve Mirco, from Denmark, on 75 points.
Manjimup’s Steve Miolin was third and Kwinana’s Adam Samsa came in fourth on a countback.
The gross winner was Andrew Crabb, from Hartfield.
Another notable performance came from David Fitzpatrick on Saturday, who hit an ace (hole-in-one) on No.15.
