Medics have a ball ahead of madcap bash

Bunbury Herald

A year after successfully navigating a 2500km trip from Albany to Perth in their first Variety Bash, Nurse Nancy and the Mad Medics return on their mission to raise money for children living with disabilities.

The Medics host a Music Legends Ball later this month with all proceeds going towards sponsoring the team in the 25th Anniversary WA Variety Bash, beginning on August 24 in Exmouth.

Driving a restored 1977 HZ Holden, the Medics last year took out the Best Decorated Car award and, with the help of main sponsor Corporate First Aid, raised more than $25,000 along the way.

This time around the team of Helen Widdup, Renae Vesnaver, Ian Angus and Aaron Offer hope to at least match that effort.

“Last year our main fundraiser was a Heroes and Villains Ball which was very popular so we’ve decided to back that up with a Music Legends themed event,” Mr Offer said.

“The ball will feature a band, silent auction, air guitar contest and prizes for the best dressed."

The Music Legends Ball takes place on July 20 at the Bunbury Powerboat Club.
