Bethanie Esprit Community Men's Shed members are enjoying their "smicko" new workshop after the official opening on Friday.

The building at the Esprit Lifestyle Village in Eaton boasts something for every man, including wood and metal workshops, activity room equipped with table tennis and a stocked tool room.

Members, partners and Bethanie staff celebrated the completion of the shed with a barbecue lunch. Bethanie manager of works Frank Swaan said the eagerly awaited building was a great addition to the leisure and recreational facilities already available at the village.

He said Bethanie provided the equipment for the shed, working closely with village residents.

Village president and shed member Dave Catto said the nine-month project was in the pipeline for a lot longer.

"The village is relatively new so it took a while to get going, but it's exciting it's finally all come together," he said.

"It's come up really smicko."

The shed - registered through the Australian Men's Shed Association - has 19 members.

Mr Catto said he hoped every male resident in the village would eventually join.

"Some people might not be interested in some of these kinds of things, but we'll have a lot of different activities," he said.

The Dardanup Shire Council provided a $1000 grant to the group to go towards a compressed air-line system for the shed.
