Mojo's, Xanadu take out gold

ADAM ORLANDOBunbury Herald

Bunbury's Mojo’s Restaurant on Victoria Street was one of two South West businesses to win an award at last night’s 2011 Gold Plate Awards.

Mojo’s Restaurant won the Licensed Casual Dining (Country) category over another Bunbury business Nicola’s Ristorante, but missed out on the coveted award for Wine List of the Year for which it was also nominated.

Xanadu Wines in Margaret River won the Restaurant within a Winery (Country) category, beating another Margaret River nominee Watershed Wines, and Dunsborough’s Wise Vineyard and Restaurant, and Palmer Wines.

Nicola’s Ristorante also missed out on winning the Mediterranean Casual Dining category, while Caf-Fez in Bunbury was unable to take home the best Coffee Shop award.

The Catering Institute of Australia (WA) has organised the Gold Plate Awards for more than 40 years.

The awards provide professional recognition for quality and enable the Catering Institute to achieve one of its core objectives, to encourage and reward excellence.
