Motorcyclists ride to save lives
More than 70 people took part in a motorcycle awareness ride which weaved its way through the South West at the weekend.
The Ulysses Bunbury branch organised the ride as part of a safety campaign to educate riders and the public in response to the recent string of fatalities involving motorcycles in the South West.
The ride began in Bunbury, stopped off at Donnybrook and Collie before winding through the scenic countryside and ending at the Harvey Dam.
Ulysses Bunbury fundraising coordinator Barry "Grub" Kelson said he was happy with how the ride had gone.
"It is important we all work together, we don't want an us and them mentality," he said.
"At the end of the day what we are trying to do is save lives."
Group officials speaking at the lunch following the ride urged riders to take part in an advanced motorcycle training course to be held in Bunbury.
The Ride to Survive course is an intense full day course for riders of all ages and experience, which will be overseen and presented by former Australian MotoGP rider Kevin Magee.
