Netball: Jets out to dispose of the Sharks

Bunbury Herald

The Griffin Souwest Jets will tonight face an acid test as to their State Netball League finals aspirations when they clash with Coastal Sharks at Arena Joondalup.

The Jets, currently sixth on the ladder, snapped a 11-game losing streak last Wednesday night when they defeated arch rivals Wheatbelt Flames 49-46 in Perth.

But the fourth-placed Sharks will present an entirely different challenge for the Jets, whoare still three points outside the top five with four games to play.

Coastal Sharks have defeated the Jets twice this season, the most recent time being a 60-36 victory four weeks ago.

In April the Sharks defeated the Jets 64-47.

A win tonight would serve as the perfect springboard to the Jets’ finals aspirations, with two winnable games on the horizon.

Later this month the Jets will host the winless Swan Rangers at Eaton in a double-header weekend.

Souwest also play league leaders Midland Brick Demons to round out their season.
