Capel shire president Murray Scott welcomed the installation of the Next G service, saying it would enable businesses to function better while residents would become more connected with their families and friends.

‘‘We have worked with Telstra on getting these improvements to Dalyellup’s mobile phone and wireless broadband reception and this means better service for all concerned,’’ Cr Scott said.

Telstra CountryWide general manager for southern WA Boyd Brown said Telstra had worked closely with the community, responding to feedback that residents and businesses wanted improved mobile coverage in the area.

Hesaid residents would experience improved coverage with their Next G mobile phones and modems in the area.

‘‘This enhanced coverage is the direct result of both Telstra’s ongoing investment in the Next G network and local customer feedback and will provide significant benefits to the local community and business,’’ he said.

‘‘With it and the wireless broadband devices that are currently available customers can power their computers and laptops with a super-fast connection to the world.’’

Mr Brown said millions of Australians had embraced Next G network technology, including high-speed mobile broadband.
