No licence, no car: police
A serious message is being sent to motorists who drive without a licence with four cars being confiscated and impounded on Sunday.
South West traffic officer-incharge Sgt Gerard Murphy said the high number of vehicles impounded in one day was proof motorists were not getting the message.
The seizures started at 9.30am when a 48-year-old man from Usher was stopped for allegedly contravening his extraordinary licence.
About 1pm, a second car was seized and impounded after police stopped a 21-year-old man from Dalyellup.
It was alleged the man was driving under a suspended licence.
A third car was impounded just an hour later.
A 38-year-old Eaton man had the car he was driving impounded after it was alleged he did not have a driver’s licence.
The fourth car that was seized was driven by a 41-year-old Harvey woman who, allegedly did not have a driver’s licence.
The four cars were immediately towed to a holding yard where they were impounded for 28 days.
